Be a local wherever you go by using WhatsOpen.com
WhatsOpen.com makes local search (more) useful. It's available via web, iPhone and Android with more applications on the way.
This service grew out of being the change we wanted to see in the world. Think about how many times you ask "Whats Open" in a month? What's neat about a project like this is that it's built on a real need we all share, not a service looking for demand.
WO exists @ the intersection of local, real-time, social, and mobile. All of the updates we're building right now are within that space. WhatsOpen (aka WO) has had it's fair share of hurdles, though we've overcome major development setbacks to be here today. Better late than never, right?
Yes, an API will be live momentarily. If you'd like to be notified when it's live click here and drop us a line.
The WO platform is available internationally for those who'd like to contribute from literally anywhere on earth.
Our team is pretty lean and rather mean:
» Jim Carter III (don't forget that last part or else) - lead developer
» Dave Bunnell - graphics wizard extrordinair
» Jacob Bullock - iPhone application ninja
» Sergiu Dogaru - Android application guru
» Caylin Lampasona - administration hacker
» Jason Schultz - chief bulldozer
A special thanks to Ahmed Farooq, Brian Hall, David Lux, and Cory Micek.
Every day we get cool, sometimes amusing, emails from people around the world who are as excited for the WO service as we are.
Here are a few that have just recently come through:
